The first art supply that tops my list is acrylic paints. Out of all the mediums, acrylic paint is my all-time favourite due to its versatility and quick drying feature. I cannot express how crucial a good set of acrylic paints are to any artist. They come in a range of vibrant colours, and with a good set, you can create any artwork your heart desires.
The second art supply that I adore is a good set of artist quality brushes. Quality brushes make a world of difference when it comes to the outcome of your artwork. The finest detail and the richest of colours can produce a masterpiece if used with the right brushes. My go-to brush brands are Winsor & Newton, Princeton and Daler Rowney.
Thirdly, a trusty sketchbook, notebook or journal is something that is always by my side. Whether it’s a spontaneous idea or a rough sketch, having a book to work in is essential. I find that I am most creative when I have a book ready to use, and it helps me organize my thoughts and ideas better. I recommend using a high-quality book with good paper stock. My favourites are the Moleskine or Leuchtturm1917 notebooks.
Lastly, a good set of colour pencils is something I never compromise on. I love incorporating colour pencils in my artwork, and with the right set, you can create beautiful details and effects. Prismacolor or Faber Castell are my favourite brands to use, and they come in a large range of colours.
In conclusion, these are just a few of my favourite art supplies that I cannot live without. I hope this helps others on their art journey, and always remember to experiment with different mediums and brands until you find the ones that work best for you. Happy creating!
