Creating opportunities for others

By

I remember as a kid learning, to my young creative understanding, about cells. The cells in our bodies that make up the mass that contains our soul. Specifically, the idea that every seven years every cell in our body regenerates and we are basically a new mass of flesh by the seventh year. How cool. How interesting, How liberating. We are literally and physically a new person every seven years. That idea has been the main focal point of my daydreams as of late. Celebrating my 33rd year on this earth today brings many thoughts. I think I have come to understand that if I could meet myself seven years ago it would be 1. traumatic. but also shocking. I have a hard time relating to her and she would be astonished by our life. How happy we are. How passionate we are for our everyday work. The little dude I get to care for and laugh with. Our handsome and beyond amazing husband. Our puppy and old dog now. I would hug her hard and tell her to chill. Relax. It will be okay.

I couldn’t have survived those years without the opportunities given to me. And that’s where I am now. In a place where my work is not only something I am passionate about but an opportunity to be there for others as others were there for me. Even the small stuff. It’s usually the small stuff that matters the most.

I have not created for others in almost 2 years. I have replaced commissions with going live to paint or draw on the internet and honestly, it is so much fun. If you would like to follow my art journey as it’s happening check out my YouTube channel by clicking here. And I go live on TikTok find me there @alexandreaimee.

I have also started to release by personal collection of work to the universe aka the internet through digital screensavers on Youtube and Rumble. I don’t know why but this project has been extremely healing and we are not even close to halfway. It all started cause I was putting on screensavers of classical paintings on our TV and I soon realized I needed to do this with my own art for my own living room. Plus this is the way I think my art is meant to be viewed. On a screen in a way you can immerse yourself in it and have it in your home the most accessible way possible. So I am posting a new screensaver every other day until every piece I own (I have series I do not own so those will not be included until the contracts run out <3) is posted.

As for tangible opportunities for other, I have started a really cool project in my community that is about to be announced where I will be providing local visual artists an opportunity to create, be seen, and make money. I really wish I could share more but I do not want anything I post to ever interfere with my work. I’ve already said too much! So if you or anyone you know in northern/mid-Ontario is looking for a visual arts opportunity please reach out<3
